what to expect

At Good News Church, we have a “come as you are” environment. Whether you’ve never been to church before or you’re a Sunday regular, you’ll be welcomed. Because we know that attending a worship service for the first time can feel awkward for some, we have put together this page to let you know what you can expect during your time with us. Below are some commonly asked questions:

What happens sunday morning?

Sunday school for all ages (nursery through senior high as well as adults) begins at 9:30 AM with our worship service beginning at 10:45 AM and lasting typically until noon. Come and enjoy complimentary coffee and snacks in our welcome area before the worship service.

what should I wear?

We welcome you to dress comfortably and be yourself. The general rule is "Come as you are!" We want to meet your real-life needs and aren’t worried about what you wear.

What is available for children?

Our nursery (infant-2 years old) is staffed by friendly and loving members of our church, all of which have had background checks. We also have a program for the kids called Junior church (3 years old – Kindergarten). The kids sing songs that are age-appropriate, and the message is tailored to reach them. We want our children to love coming to church, and our worship nursery and Junior church are designed for that to happen. You are also welcome to keep your children with you during worship. You can rest assured that the safety and security of your children is a top priority at Good News Church.

What's the preaching like?

Pastor JR communicates with a warm, honest, and personal style. Each weekend you'll find his messages are Bible-based, offering practical life guidance rich in wisdom, yet easy to understand. Whether you've been following Jesus for some time or are curious about what a relationship with God looks like, you'll find Pastor JR easy to connect with. Check out past sermons on our media page, located on the main navbar.

what's the music like?

Our time of worship is filled with lively, powerful music in many different styles – from the latest contemporary Christian music to wonderful traditional hymns. We strive for musical excellence, but we don't want to merely put on a show. We desire that you encounter God in an authentic way during our time together. If you would like to be part of the Good News Church Worship Team as a musician or vocalist or if you would like to join the Good News Church Technical Arts Team, please send us an email on the Contact Us page.
